Ebony and Ivory, Together in Perfect Harmony on a Return Address Label
Remember that video? Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney. Two megastars coming together to write a hit song. How could it not succeed? Well, here’s a template on our ML-8100 Return Address Label that’s bound to be a hit. Ok, maybe not, but for you pianists out there, you might like it. I could fit only 3 octaves of the keyboard, but it still works.

Applying a Shipping Label
Something as easy as applying a shipping label seems easy, but there are some helpful tips you could use. First of all make sure that the Package that you’re affixing the label to is clean and dust free. It wouldn’t hurt just to run a very lightly damped rag over the surface just to get that dust off. Then wait a few minutes so that any dampness can evaporate before applying the label. Make sure that the surface you’re affixing the label to is free of any oils or materials that are flaking off such as old paint or old labels. Don’t affix your labels to surfaces that have old clear tape, the labels might be more prone to come off. Hey, there are a lot of small companies out there that just can’t go out and buy brand new boxes with perfectly clean surfaces. Anyway re-using boxes is better for the environment. It might not look as pretty, but you’re saving the planet one cardboard box at a time.
ML-0400 Shipping Label Flourishes
Here’s another flourish for the ML-0400. It’s a quarter sheet shipping label. I’ve put the SVG below the MS Word document.
MR-1212 Color Coding Circle Labels
If you’re really ambitious you can create a slick template for the MR-1212 series of labels. With Inkscape it’s an easy task to get Text on a curve.
You may have to tweak the graphics a bit to get your labels centered, and your printer might not support full bleed printing. Full bleed printing means that the printer will print all the way out to the edge of the paper. If you don’t have a full bleed, the outside columns will be cut off at the edges of the labels.
Also read warnings about printing on small sheeted labels here.
Return Address Label Template
If you’re a big fan of the Music and you need Return Address Labels, you may want to utilize this Music themed Return Address Label template. They were really easy to create in Inkscape, then pasted into Microsoft Word 2007. I chose Bach’s Bouree because I love the piece, and because one of my favorite old bands, Jethro Tull also covered the tune.
Be Fulfilled With Our Address Labels
Many of our customers are fulfillment houses. They use our labels because they can rely on Maco labels , the reason being, that they are a quality product. Our products won’t jam in the printer. They won’t come off of the envelope or package (unless, of course you order our removable products). Not only that, our address labels are not costly like Avery labels, and the prices you see at Maco labels include shipping.
ML-0600 Shipping Label Template
Here is a template ML-0600 I whipped up in Inkscape. It’s so easy to create these clean and sharp and scalable graphics in Inkscape, it’s sick. Then it’s ridiculously easy to get the graphic into Word. It’s as simple as selecting the graphic in Inkscape and copying it to the clipboard then switching to Word and Pasting. Then you can scale it to fit. Remember to hold the Ctrl or Shift key down to keep the vertical and horizontal dimensions scaled the same way.
And here is the artwork you can edit in Inkscape.
Removable Color Coding Labels Application
When considering using Color Coding Labels for certain applications, be sure you are planning to put them on compatible surfaces. Our removable labels stick well to glass and ceramic surfaces. Sometimes they stick a little too well, because the surface is so smooth, it creates a fantastic sealing surface for the glue to stick to. It’s usually not a big deal to take the label off, and sometimes there might be a little bit of glue left on the smooth surface that you have to clean off. Also, if the label is left on for say, several years, all bets are off on remove-ability. They labels might adhere even more to the surface, or they might fall of depending on the surface.
When applying the color coding label to any surface, make sure the surface is dry and clean and free of dust and dirt. As always, extreme environments are not good for labels. Extreme environments include extreme cold, extreme heat, extended exposure to sunlight, high humidity, or exposure to rain or steam.
Address Labels for Pinfeed Printers
Sometimes you just don’t need to have the quality of laser labels when doing your mailings. Our 42-451 pinfeed label is just the ticket for printing on dot matrix printers. You can print one label at a time, or you can print the whole box of 5000 labels. So there’s no need to waste a whole sheet of labels, like when you print the ML-3000 labels in a laser printer. There’s only so many times you can run one sheet of ML-3000 sheet through a hot laser printer without affecting the quality of the sheeted labels. So drag out your old pinfeed dot matrix printer, and get your money’s worth.
Manipulating Graphics on an Address Label
When working with graphics in Microsoft Word 2007 on an address label or any kind of label, some things are really important to know. Once the graphic has been placed in your document, there are several options on how the graphic is displayed. Also, you might discover that you can’t even select the graphic. If this happens, you need to select the graphic. Click on the Home tab, then click on Select from the menu bar, then from the subsequent drop down menu click on Select Objects. You’ll notice that now when you hover over your graphics you’ll get a different cursor that will let you click on your graphic and select it. Once it’s selected, you’ll notice that the Format tab is now visible. When you click on the Format tab, click on the Position icon, then select More Layout Options to get the Advanced Layout popout pane. Select the “Text Wrapping” tab and choose “Behind Text” if you want your text to appear on top of the graphic. Then click on the “Picture Position” tab. This will allow you to position your graphic in many different ways. I prefer to select the Absolute Position radio button and then “Page” from the “to the Right of the page” drop down menu , and “Page” from the “below” drop down menu. When you make these selections, you can move the graphic anywhere on the page. Then if you need to duplicate the graphic, just select it an press Ctrl while dragging it, then release the Ctrl button at the position where you want to copy the graphic.
